The GREAT Nieces in Their Dresses
Earlier this summer I made coordinating outfits for my 5 little great nieces. I have several older great nieces but I missed the opportunity to sew for them.
So here they are:
Baby N in a Children’s Corner Taylor. I made size 18 months and it was a real squeaker to get it on her at 10 months. She is VERY tall!
Next is petite MissC. in Oliver + S. I adore the cap sleeve on this dress. And the bubble hem. It is a real winner! I made a size 2 and she was a little over 2 years old. She is a wee one. Look at her piggies!
Then I made the same pattern for cousin M. She is 4 and I made a size 4 for her. Big sister M is in my own version of a jumper. They wore these for their first day of school last month.
Again, all of the fabrics coordinated but no two dresses were alike. I used Riley Blake’s Summer Song by My Mind’s Eye. They are a scrapbook paper company that has branched into fabrics.
And last but not least, the oldest of the group MissT. She also wore her for the start of school. When I saw her in July, I thought the jumper was going to be too big. As you can see, it is not. The two oldest girls had full twirl factor with 2 44″ widths in the skirt. A sturdy tucked hem allows the girls to wear them and be children. Trust me, they run and tumble and need to be both pretty and tough. A great combination, I think!
Enjoy!
